Interstate Transport, Inc., a third-party logistics company headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida, has an immediate opening for an experienced Sales Account Manager in the trucking / logistics / 3PL industry.

We are now accepting resumes from experienced candidates for positions in our St. Petersburg, Florida office. Candidates must come with a book of business and have a proven track record in transportation brokerage sales. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Essential Job Functions
-Develop a new customer base and maintain current clients
-Increase truckload business with your current clients
-Contact regional and national freight shippers in order to bid, quote, and win freight lanes
-Possess extensive experience in bidding shipper freight and pricing annual or national lane bids from national or regional shippers

Requirements
-3+ years experience working at a trucking company, logistics company, or 3PL
Current, established customer base
-Proven track record of developing clients of significant nature (and the ability to provide details of such development)
-Excellent communication and organizational skills
-Tenacity and outgoing personality

Other Skills/Abilities
-Problem solving and understanding of market conditions that drive pricing
-Remain self-motivated with a sense of urgency
-Negotiation skills and ability to make logical decisions that will increase profitability
-Identify and qualify customers
-Cold calling
-Convert leads to new business
-Professional image
